Project Highlights & Artifacts

Tamara has vast experience in new construction, historical renovation, and forensics in the built environment.

SAFETY MINDED - Workplace

As a leader of my workplace safety committee, I have initiated emergency action plans, hosted safety culture presentations, created toolbox talks, as well as site specific safety plans. I promote always having your head on a swivel for safety awareness and exit strategies at all times. Safety is paramount both in and out of the workplace. -Tamara

NETWORKING - Women in Construction

Networking activities is a key factor to connecting with new clients and managing current client relationships. There are so many associations that offer educational functions and networking opportunities in our industry, with various client types. I strive to represent my company well and become a trusted resource. -Tamara

KNOWLEDGE SHARING - Future Colleagues

I hosted an event for 30 high school students (Junior/Senior) who are trying to find an answer to their career path after high school. We split the students up into 3 groups and they learned about what we do in our careers. I received many thank you cards and heard that my team and I helped them make some career decisions. -Tamara

ENGINEERING - 1600 Pacific

I spent 1-1/2 years with the ownership team who wanted to convert this 40-year old empty building into a high-end hotel. I helped them understand the structural engineering issues with the current structure, as well as the curtain wall ramifications of changing the glass to meet code. The hotel has been completed for years now and my engineering & design recommendations were followed. -Tamara

LEADERSHIP - IIBEC Awards

I am the Vice President of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Council (IIBEC) North Texas Chapter and received two awards this year for excellence in leadership. We are the first IIBEC Chapter to win this prestigious award for five consecutive years. -Tamara

TEAM BUILDING - Andretti

"Enjoy the Ride" is what we call it. With our daily focus on client deliverables and billable hours, we cannot forget about our internal client relationships. Enjoying time with our peers helps build trust that extends to our external clients, as well. -Tamara

HISTORICAL RENOVATIONS - Warwick Melrose

A historical renovation typically needs to look exactly the same on the exterior as it did when the building was first built. The challenge here was converting old wood windows with 1/4" glass to thermally improved aluminum windows with 1" insulated glass and have it look the exact same. Mission accomplished.

DESIGN BUILD - Traxxas

The architect wanted a specific design requiring a 4-sided structural silicone glazed curtainwall. They were uncomfortable with the system, so I walked through it with them from the design process throughout a successful build. This included detailing, testing, fabrication, and a quality installation. -Tamara

PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Turtle Creek

This high-end fully occupied building required 100% glass replacement. The project management entailed coordination with the tenants, understanding and meeting energy codes, safety coordination, and glass replacement scheduling. Project completed with a high-standard of quality, on time, and within budget.

INNOVATION - The Drever

The design-intent was to demo the existing marble on a historical building and replace it with new marble from Greece, while accomplishing a LEED Platinum certification. I presented a system to carefully demo each panel and reuse them on a fabricated clip & rail system, so the marble was 100% repurposed for LEED and the existing marble was used to easily meet historical requirements. -Tamara

CONSULTING - The Richards Group

With a new energy code to meet, the Architectural team was challenged with providing super clear glass for this marketing guru client, while still meeting code. I assisted the team with selecting the exterior curtainwall, glass, metal panels and sun devices. Consulting included furnishing samples, cost analysis, and specification development with the new thermal building codes in mind. -Tamara

CREATIVITY - Religious Temple

The owner of the existing building wanted an internal sliding door with stained glass showing a tree design, where the branches aligned when the middle doors were opened along the sidelite. I took this $200/sf thought and presented a $50/sf idea using laminated safety glass with texture and the design printed within it. They loved it! -Tamara
